Rich snippet data from one post being added to loads of unrelated files

    Hi there,

I have recently installed the Rank Math API plugin and have been testing the results. I have found that the excerpt snippet seems to be attaching to loads of unrelated image files, which then all appear in search results.

On top of that, the correct article appears (third on the SERP list) with a snippet that does not use the Rank Math excerpt I have selected and simply pulls the opening text from the article. Here is a URL of the screenshot of the search results:

    This is the relevant post:

Can you advise on what might be causing this problem and how I can fix it?

    Many thanks,

    stuart

  • Hi there,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

You have enabled the option to index the images on your posts which are also indexed and added to the SERP. Please also note that Google reserves the right to control how the search results are displayed on the page and sometimes the meta settings will not match the ones that you have set.
All you can do is to wait, Google will hopefully honor the titles and descriptions that you have set.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.
