Rewrite Titles – title is there but in the wrong place

    Hi

I am building with WordPress & Cwicly and in my RanMath set up in the Titles & Meta, I’m getting the following option:

    Rewrite Titles
Your current theme doesn’t support title-tag. Enable this option to rewrite page, post, category, search and archive page titles.

If I inspect my code the title tag is indeed there but in the wrong place; outside of the RankMath snippet and way down the DOM. Enabling the above option does not fix this – can you tell me what the best way to fix this is please?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Please check the file header.php of your current theme and see if they are hard-coding the <title> tag inside that file somewhere.

If that doesn’t help, please try adding the following filter to move the title inside the Rank Math metabox: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#move-title-inside-metabox

To apply any filter on the website you can use one of the following methods: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

Hope this helps solve your issues.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi

I have tried the method that you recommend and that doesn’t help. I have also contacted the Cwicly developer and he says that WordPress have changed the way they handle the title tag in full site editing, and Cwicly is a FSE theme – are you aware of this? and if so how can I adjust it and get the title tag to display in the correct place e.g. within the RankMath snippet, above the description tag?

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hi

Sorry but I won’t be allowing access to the site – I have done this in the past and my sites have been wrecked. Not saying that your guys would do that but I will live with the error – thanks anyway
