Rewrite Canonical Not Working

Hi,

I recently published this page: https://www.chelseafcblog.com/transfer-news-rumours/

For some reason the canonical tag being applied is the not SSL version: http://www.chelseafcblog.com/transfer-news-rumours/

This is causing indexing issues and I’m getting errors when trying to get it indexed.

I followed this guide and overwrited the canonical to the https version: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-change-canonical-url/

This isn’t being reflected on the front end despite clearing cache and cookies.

Could you help me look into this please.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The HTTP version of your site is not getting redirected to the HTTPS version and that’s why the HTTP version is being used as the canonical URL. You don’t have to use the filter. Please follow this guide to redirect the HTTP version to the HTTPS version to fix the issue: https://www.semrush.com/blog/redirect-http-to-https/
