I am using rankmath headless to get the head data for my blog. However, the page title is not returned in the response. The robots meta also has “nofollow” and “noIndex” as the content. Kindly help me discover where I might be doing the wrong thing. Thank you.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you please add the URL that you are trying to ping via the API in the sensitive data section so we can check the response and compare it with the actual data?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

If you check the source code of the page that you are pinging the same robots meta tag is present there, so it seems that everything is working as intended.

In fact, it seems that the entire website is set to noindex so please check the settings under WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Reading and make sure that you don’t have the option to prevent Search Engines from crawling the page enabled.

Hope this helps solve your issues.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Oh, I just saw that…. Thank you.

Is that the reason why the title is not also returned in the API response?

    Hello,

No, if the title is not appearing it’s likely that is being handled by your theme and not from Rank Math.

Even if you have the noindex robots meta tag it should still output the title if it’s being generated from our plugin.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Thank you Miguel for your help so far.

My team and I have been looking through our theme to see if there are any settings that could trigger such a problem, but we did not find any solution.

Could you kindly direct me to where I can find such settings in my theme?
PS: I’m using the default theme.

    Hello,

I checked the source of your homepage and the title tag is present outside of Rank Math’s meta tags section, which means that it is added by some other plugin/theme. You can have a look at the screenshot in the sensitive data section of this ticket.

Please follow this guide to determine the plugin/theme adding the title tag: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Once found, you can disable the title tag and other similar features of that plugin/theme to fix the issue.

If you’re not sure, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
