  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Regarding the sub-sitemaps, this is normal because Rank Math automatically creates another sub-sitemap for your post/pages if the count already exceeds the limit. This happens due to the Links Per Sitemap option we have in Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > General:

Please note that Google crawls small-sized sitemaps faster. With this in mind, Rank math uses the links per sitemap limit to break down sitemaps into smaller parts. You can also check Google’s guidelines for sitemaps: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/sitemaps/build-sitemap

For the indexing issue, please share some affected URLs with us so that we can check the issue further for you.

Meanwhile, you can also check your Google Search Console coverage section to determine any issues reported on your site: https://support.artlogic.net/hc/en-gb/articles/360016851260-Google-Search-Console-errors-and-coverage-issues

You can share the error message or take a screenshot using this tool and add the link here so we can check as well.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We checked post the sitmaps and we can see that both have different set of post URLs.

You can again check, and if you see the same post URL on both sitemaps, then please do share those URLs.

Also we checked some random URLs from both the sitemaps, and we could see that the meta robots rules are set as indexed and also they are appearing in Google Search Results using the site: operator.

Regarding the set of URLs that you have shared in the sensitive data section, they may not get deindexed automatically in future.

This in a broader aspect looks like caching issue, can you please try following the steps below to see if that works for you?

#1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

#2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

#3. If the above steps doesn’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter code to your site.

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Hi, i’ve updated info in sensitive data. kindly check.

As for sitemap caching, I have flushed sitemaps cache every month since the indexing error happened using method #1 and I did exclude sitemap files in caching plugin/CF server.

According to your guide in #3, I placed the code on the last line of function.php file in the child theme. is it right? https://imgur.com/IG94CvW

    Hello,

Please note that all the post sitemaps include unique URLs. There is no duplication there. As you keep publishing posts, the number of sitemaps increases once the first sitemap reaches the limit of the links you have set.

So the post URL that is currently in the first sitemap, will be moved to the second sitemap once you publish more new posts.

Google must have discovered the URLs once from your main post sitemap and then again from the post-sitemap-1 and that’s why they have included both in the Sitemap section of the inspection result. This isn’t going to cause any indexing issues with the indexing of your site as it doesn’t matter how Google discovers the URLs.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need our assistance with anything else.
