Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
I looked at the source code of the identical URL in your sitemap, and the page has been set to index. Kindly set it to noindex.
For initial troubleshooting, please make sure that your sitemap is not cached. Please follow these steps:
1. Ensure you’re using the latest version of your plugins/theme including Rank Math.
2. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/xXXhDt
3. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
If the issue still persists, you can exclude the page manually as well, by navigating to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > General or you could follow the steps from our Knowledge article here:
https://rankmath.com/kb/configure-sitemaps/#exclude-posts
Please let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you further.
Thank you
Hi, I have tried but unfortunately, I’m unable to remove it as the link doesn’t show in my posts’ section nor does it show in my pages section in the WordPress dashboard as it’s the main link for the site, so there is no way for me to remove it based on the id, while also I cannot turn on the noindex as the option doesn’t show up for me since the page/link doesn’t appear in the pages or posts section in the WordPress dashboard.
Hello,
The first link on our sitemaps is always the archive page for that post type and since the homepage of your website is actually the archive page for your posts it will show on that sitemap.
The reason it shows on the page sitemap as well is that it is an actual page on your website.
Hope this helps clarify your doubts.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Not sure why I missed that. Anyways, thank you for the help.
