    Hey RankMath awesome team,

I was trying to remove the “Archives” part before categories to make them look cleaner, so I went down to Categories and removed “Archives” and after that, all the categories on my website shows Error 404 Page not Found, I saved the Permalinks a couple of times, tried adding it back again to where it was but no luck.

Now that all of my categories are showing Error 404 Page Not Found, how do I fix that? and how do I remove the Archives part after that? and btw is it even useful or something? I’d love to know more from you.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

The WP-Admin URL you provide doesn’t work, it redirects to the homepage. Could you check it?

    Thank you.

Hey, Thanks so much I fixed the issue, it turns out that it was because of the Strip Category Base Option, so when I turn it on, the categories don’t work, what I want is to get rid of “Category” part in the link without breaking the category pages.

As for the admin URL, I find it wired that’s not working maybe that another issue.

So can you please instead login here with the same credentials provided. https://www.freelancestation.net/userlogin/

and btw I think that the issue might be that when Strip Category Base option is turned on, it removed “/” that should be before the category title, so the link will be missing “/” and that’s what’s causing the issue.

Try turning it one and check if that might be true.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I have been able to replicate the issue on my site but I could not reproduce it on my end. This could be related to the RTL configuration and this has been submitted to our dev team for closer investigation and we will be getting back to you in a short while.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hey Micheal,

Thanks for taking the time to investigate this, and yes I also do believe that it’s an issue related to RTL, wish your awesome dev team can fix it in the next updates.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ali,

In your OP, you mentioned you removed Archives from the URLs. Could you please tell us more about that with examples?

    1. What URL did you have before
    2. What URL do you have now?
    3. Does the issue get fixed if you disable the strip category base?
    4. Is the issue fixed if you disable Rank Math?

If we talk about the missing slash – it is an issue with only in the preview. If you check the actual URL – it doesn’t miss the slash. With that said, we are working on fixing the issue.

    Hey Todd,

I’m sorry this was a mistake from my side because I was changing so many options and I lost track what was the option that caused the issue, but it turned out that removing the ARcives part is not related to the issue, but I’ll explain the points that you asked about.

    1. https://www.freelancestation.net/category/ΨͺΨ΅Ω…ΩŠΩ…/ *category Name*
    2. https://www.freelancestation.netΨͺΨ΅Ω…ΩŠΩ…/ *Category name is missing dash before the name*
    3. Yes.
    4. No need to do so, it’s fixed by disabling the strip category base.

and I don’t think that it was an issue with the preview, the actual URL is missing a slash and I believe that this was the whole issue, maybe it’s because the categories name is in Arabic RTL.

Feel free to try the options on the website if it will help you fix the issue in the future updates ❀

Also since you brought up the RTL thing, I think I’d like to tell you something, there are a couple of things that are being counted in the score that we won’t be able to get as RTL Blogs, for example

Your title doesn’t contain a positive or a negative sentiment word.
Your title doesn’t contain a power word. Add at least one.

these two things are not supporting these kinds of words in Arabic for example, so we’ll never reach 100% SEO score because of that.

I’d be more than happy to help you with both of them btw.

    Hello,

Thank you for the details. Your patience will be appreciated as we look further into the issue.
As for the SEO score, that is just a guideline for you, it doesn’t affect your site SEO on Search engines and it shouldn’t be followed religiously.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
