Removed Archives from Category Archive Titles, but shows up anyways

Hi, I have removed Archives from Category Archive Titles – leaving it like this: %term% %page% %sep% %sitename%

However when I scroll down to the Rank Math section on each product and click on Edit Snippet, it clearly shows the Archives is still there: %term% Archives %page% %sep% %sitename%

Why doesn’t the change go through from the general Category Archive Titles settings?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Category Archive Titles in Rank Math. It seems that the changes you made in the general settings are not reflecting in the individual product settings. This can happen if the individual settings for the product category are overriding the global settings.

To resolve this, please follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to Post → Categories in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Select the category you want to edit and click on the Edit button.
    3. Scroll down to the Rank Math Meta Box and check if there are any custom settings applied there that include "Archives" in the title.
    4. If you find any custom title set, you can remove "Archives" from that field and save your changes.

If you still encounter issues after checking these settings, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can assist you further. A human agent from our support team will take over and help resolve this issue.

Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hi,
I want to move away from this option as I have about 200 categories and don’t want to go in to each one and edit (also when creating new ones).
I have cleared cache and tested in incognito mode also

    Hello,

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We checked your website and found that the “Archives” was already removed from your post categories.

However, for the product categories, the “Archives” was added in Rank Math > Titles & Meta settings.

We removed this from the “Category Archive Titles” in Titles & Meta settings, and now the “Archives” is no longer showing in the product categories.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Thank you so much!

    Hello,

    Glad that helped.

Please feel free to reach out to us again in case you need any other assistance.

    We are here to help.

    Thank you.
