Hello,
To Rank Math plugin, it doesn’t matter if you are using it on an established or a new website. We redirect everything correctly regardless of the age of your website.
However, we do not recommend enabling that option for established because:
1. At best, you will see a temporary drop in your traffic
2. You will see a temporary drop in your rankings
3. Since it is a 301 redirect, no one can know how Google will treat it. They do say the 301s pass all the link juice but we have seen websites never recovering to their former glory after switching domains and changing permalinks. A 10% permanent loss in traffic is not unheard of.
WooCommerce has different reasons for not endorsing it. If you are using the same names for your products, and your product categories – it will obviously create issues.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Great thank you for your reply, that clears things up for me.
