Remove category base bug

  • Dear sir, madam,

    I use the RankMath plug-in and i really love it. The only big issue i experience is that i use the “Remove category base” function for Woocommerce. We have a custom design, so we link product categories manually with a hard link. Lately I often see that the links become broken, because the link becomes /product-category/categoryname instead of /category/. If i disable and enable the function everything is fine again. Do you know why this happens?

    Our domain is kululeko.nl/shop-nu where the categories are present. I hope you can help me. If credentials are needed I can give them.

    I’ve checked some of your category pages, but I couldn’t replicate the issue. I’m assuming that you have already applied the fix you mentioned.

    Could you please share if there’s an error message when the issue happens? Are you getting a 404 not found error? Or redirection?

    I indeed get the standard 404 page and (I think) the category URL changed to domain.com/product-category/category-name.

    At first it was once in a few months, but the last week it happend 3 or 4 times, so that’s why it becomes quite urgent.

    How can I help you to troubleshoot this?

    Hello,

    At the moment it seems that the categories are working as expected and as such, it would be really hard to troubleshoot an issue that is not present at the moment.

    When the issue arises again please take note of any changes of settings or content that you did recently so that we can have an idea of what might be causing the permalinks from losing their structure.
