Regarding FAQ blocks

    Hello,

    I have multiple questions on your FAQ block. This pertains to my blog post https://earguru.in/hearing-loss/hearing-loss-faqs/

    Question 1: Can I have a list inside the FAQ answer block? I want bullet list for the points I have mentioned.

    Question 2: Can I arrange the bullet points in two columns next to each other? something like having two list blocks next to each other in one container instead of a long bullet list.

    Question 3: As you can see from the image, I have spaced the alphabets and the numerals in the FAQ answer block, however the front does not show the space between them.

    How do I space them?

    Question 4: The image when added to a FAQ block shows up as thumbnail in the front end. This is fine if this shows up in Google SERP, but does not look good if someone is reading the complete post. Can’t we add a image block after the FAQ block?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Regards,

    Amrik

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting the support.

    1, 2. Unfortunately, we do not have a feature to add lists in the FAQ Block. However, we’ll keep this suggestion noted and see if we’re able to implement it in the future.

    3. Currently, we have a filter that can preserve multiple line breaks but not multiple spaces. We will keep this noted as well.

    4. You can easily add the image block after the FAQ block but assuming you’ve added a single FAQ Block to the page, if you want to add the image to all the questions, this might not be the best approach.

    In any case, if you wish to move the image after the answer section, you can add the below CSS code to the website:

    .rank-math-answer {
        display: flex;
        flex-direction: column;
    }
    .rank-math-answer img {
        order: 2;
    }

    Here’s how you can add the CSS: https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-easily-add-custom-css-to-your-wordpress-site/

    Let us know how that goes.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    I noticed that the thumbnail image reduced to 150X150 is of a very low resolution, if I enlarge it on my phone, it pixalates and I cannot read anything on the image. I would like to use a full size image below the related FAQ block.

    Since the post has already been published, how do I add an image block in between the FAQ block?

    Regards,

    Amrik

    Hello,

    You may click on the FAQ block and choose the desired image size. Please refer to this screenshot:

    As for your last inquiry, can you please confirm if you are trying to add images between FAQ items? If so, unfortunately, we don’t have that option as our block is mainly used for FAQ items and the images can only be added inside each item.

    However, if you are adding multiple FAQ blocks, you can simply add the image block and then drag or move the block to the desired location. https://i.rankmath.com/eUukAh

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi,

    Your first suggestion to increase the size of the image does not look good as the text is displayed in a narrow strip on the side of the image. If I use the CSS code mentioned in your earlier mail will it push the image below the text? and will the text look normal, like other blocks without image?

    I tried moving the image block by using the up/down arrows. The image block moves to the top of the post or to the bottom, does not move one FAQ block at a time. I have around 20+ FAQ blocks, one below the other.

    Regards,

    Amrik

    Hello,

    Yes, the CSS code that we shared previously will change the position of the image but that is only parsed on the frontend so you would need to check the actual live page to make sure the code is working correctly.

    Please note that the arrows are for moving the question and answer section (including the image associated with that particular group) and not to me single elements.

    We would recommend reading the following article fully to understand the usage of this block: https://rankmath.com/kb/faq-schema-block/

    Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi Miguel.

    Thanks for the link to understand the usage of the FAQ block. This raises another question.

    I have made a post with more than 20 FAQ questions and answers on the same topic. Do have a look at https://earguru.in/hearing-loss/hearing-loss-faqs/

    The article on FAQ bloc usage mentions that Google recognizes only one FAQ per page, and Rank Math combines the FAQ blocks to create a single block. In this case will the 20+ questions have a chance of showing in the SERP or only the first question?

    More of an SEO issue than technical, hope you throw some light on this.

    Regards,

    Amrik

    Hello,

    Rank Math automatically combines all the FAQ blocks on the page into a single FAQ Schema to comply with Google’s guidelines.

    I checked and on your page as well, a single FAQ Schema is rendered and all the questions are added to it. Here’s a screencast for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/H4i78L

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
