Redirects from Yoast (non-pro)

Doesn’t Yoast (non-pro) create redirects also? I wanted to recommend RankMath to my client because we keep finding redirects that we cannot manage (since they do not have pro – I thought.) But now I am not sure. Maybe WordPress also stores redirects? We are using the Redirection plugin also but I checked it and it is not storing the redirect that I was seeing. After changing the permalink, I was finally able to fix it but it took a lot of time. Am I right that Yoast (non-pro) does store redirects? If so, is there a way to bring them into Rank Math or would we need to purchase Yoast Pro first?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.

Upon checking, it seems that Yoast’s redirect feature is available with their Premium version:

However, if you have redirections setup from Yoast, you can import them easily upon migrating to Rank Math:

    Yoast

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Well, I do not use Yoast Pro and there IS a redirect happening. I need to turn it off but everything I try does not work. If I suggest moving to Rank Math to my client, can I suggest that this will likely solve the problem? It sounds like the answer is no. Right? Any other ideas for stopping it from redirecting?

    Hello,

You need to confirm first if these unwanted redirections do come from Yoast but since you mentioned that your client doesn’t have Yoast Premium, the redirection could be from somewhere else.

For us to confirm, please share some of the affected URLs so we can check who redirects them.

With that said, If you wish to migrate to Rank Math from Yoast, you can perform settings data import without the Redirections.

Looking forward to helping you on this one.
