We generate the sitemaps based on the settings that you have for the website URL under WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General.
If you have the HTTPS version of your website there then the sitemap generated will also have the same protocol.
You also need to make sure that the GSC property also is with the same protocol, otherwise, it won’t allow for the sitemap to be added properly.
