    Rank Math free

    Hi,
I had a redirection plugin which is widely used (https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/) set up with some URLs before using RankMath (evaluation of R.Math vs Yoast). Its data was showning as being imported during the onboarding set up process. This plugin was deactivated during onboarding. But I don’t see the redirections in place in Rank Math. Can you please help to ensure that everything is in place here? Any assistance appreciated!

I have setup a tempoary Admin login token link in the sensative data area should you need this – expires in 7days.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your site, and indeed the redirections were not imported during the setup wizard for some reason.

However, I’ve already imported your redirections from the plugin in Rank Math > Status & Tools > Import & Export. You can now visit and check the redirections on your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > Redirections.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Hi Reinelle, Thanks for doing this, however can you please explain how you did this.

I have over 70 Websites using Redirection Plugin , if RankMath has an issue with onboarding this then I need to understand the process and evaluate time involved.
Do I need to manually export to a csv file then import into Rank Math and skip this process on the onboarding.
It would be great to have this sorted so it is seamless for onboarding – is Rankmath looking at this for WordPress Plugings that are highly utilised?

    Regards

    Hello,

If Rank Math detects old data from your Redirection plugin, you can simply import it in Rank Math’s Status & Tools page, you don’t have to export and import any CSV unless you are working with migrating from a different site.

Please head over to Rank Math > Status & Tools > Import & Export and on this page, you should be able to see that your redirection plugin data was detected and ready to be imported to Rank Math. Please refer to my screenshot in the Sensitive Data section.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Hi – that does not answer my question. Reinelle stated:

“I’ve checked your site, and indeed the redirections were not imported during the setup wizard for some reason.”

Reinelle did something to fix this – what you have told us sounds more like a generic “how to do” —

If there is an issue – as what happened here – how do we troubleshoot this to fix ourselves —-

If Jeremy’s response – is sending us to resources that provide that information — then please tell us that — from what I am reading Jeremy just gave us instructions to go a resource on general setup — not troubleshooting.

    Thank you

    Hello,

During the Setup Wizard some plugins might not be able to correctly import their data into Rank Math but if you detect that is the case on the website just head over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Import & Export and import the data from the plugin section there.

This only needs to be done if the import fails during the initial setup.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
