Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
Unfortunately, the Rank Math redirection module doesn’t support the mailto:
link for a redirect. The destination URL should be an actual URL.
I hope that helps.
Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.
Hi
this didn’t help and also is not a proper behaviuor from you
there is no reason to block a custom redirect not compulsory with the add of the website url at the beginning
So I still ask to you to fix this now and let me do the redirect I need
The mailto can be add in a button as a link so you have to permit it as well
Hello,
Thanks for getting back to us.
The redirection manager of Rank Math is developed to redirect URLs from & to websites.
Since mailto:
isn’t a website URL, unfortunately, it can’t be redirected with the redirection manager of Rank Math.
You can use another tool or .htaccess redirects to redirect to mailto:
. Below is an example redirect code that can be modified and used in .htaccess file to achieve the desired redirect.
Redirect 301 /relative_URL/ mailto:a**@g********
Please ensure to replace the “relative_URL” with the actual relative URL of the page and “a**@g********” with the required email id.
Also, if you’re not sure, then please get in touch with a developer regarding this, since .htaccess files are very sensitive and a small mistake might end up in bigger issues.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
