  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We want to look at the issue you are currently facing with the redirection.

To do this, we need to check the details of your redirection settings to understand the issue better.

Can you please show us a screenshot of the redirection you have created? To do that, please go to your redirection page and click on the one that you are having trouble with. Then, take a screenshot of the page and upload it to https://imgur.com/upload.

After that, please send us the link to the image so we can see it.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

First, you’re using a very old version of the Rank Math PRO on your site v3.0.19. The latest version of Rank Math is v3.0.48:

Also, the account you have used to open this ticket is the Rank Math free version.

Can you please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com or the email address you used to purchase so we can locate your account and verify it?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    info updated

    Hello,

It looks like /lincolnshire-news is an Orphan Attachments page and we found that you’ve set the non-www version of your website in the Redirect Orphan Attachments field and that’s why it was not working properly.

However, we’ve updated the Redirect Orphan Attachments field and now the redirection is working properly without any issues:

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

can you let me know the steps that you took, as i would like to redirect all 404 pages to https://www.in2town.co.uk/sorry-page-no-longer-available/

    Hello,

The option we are referring to here is available in Rank Math > General Settings > Links > Redirect Orphan Attachments.

If you want that custom redirection, you can set it up from Rank Math > General Settings > Redirections > Fallback Behaviour. We checked your website and we can see that you have already set this up:

And we can also see that it is working correctly:

If you are having issues with this, please let us know so we can help investigate it.

We hope this helps you understand the situation better. If you have any other questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us again. We’re always here to assist you.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!

I have recommended the paid version to lots of my friends who are not having any problems. i am going to update my paid version but i am concerned at this issue. i do not want all the 404 pages going to my home page as it will damage seo ranking. so, i want to be able to redirect them to relevent pages but it is not letting me.]

for example, if you look in my site you will see the lincolnshire news page as above, i want that to go to the home page but i want other 404 pages to go to relevent pages. any type of redirect i try to do, your plugin will not allow me to do it. please have a look

for example, if is the original page lincolnshire-news/ it was a category page, but i want it to go to in2town.co.uk as that is the page i now want to rank for lincolnshire news but even though i have redirected it to the home page, it goes to https://www.in2town.co.uk/sorry-page-no-longer-available/ can you fix this and let me know why my redirections are not working, thank you

    Hello,

The redirect is not working because it is being overshadowed by your custom 404 fallback redirect. To resolve this, we have created a .htaccess redirection rule to force this redirection. We added the following code to the first line of your website’s .htaccess file:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^lincolnshire-news/?$ / [R=301,L]

You can see the code from Rank Math > General Settings > Edit .htaccess.

With the code added, we can see that the page is now being redirected properly. Please check on your end and let us know if everything is working fine now.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
