Hello,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and apologies for the inconvenience caused.
If you wish to set up redirection for your domain name, you may follow the steps provided on the support article link below:
https://rankmath.com/kb/setting-up-redirections/#:~:text=To%20find%20redirects%20filed%20under,Dashboard%20%3E%20Rank%20Math%20%3E%20Redirections.&text=Then%2C%20click%20on%20the%20%E2%80%9CFilter,and%20hit%20the%20save%20button.
However, if you are looking for an advanced redirection module, this feature is only available for Rank Math Pro users. You can upgrade to the Pro version if that is what you need.
The alternative way to set up URL Redirection is by using 301 Redirects via the .htaccess file.
Please use the below code and add it to the .htaccess file:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
Please make sure to edit before using the above code.
I hope that helps and please do not hesitate to contact us back anytime if you require further assistance.
Happy to help!
Cheers,
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
That is correct when someone visits your 1st URL, the visitor will get redirected to the 2nd URL as the actual page. So this won’t take effect on the Homepage only. This will be applied to the entire web pages as you configured the 2nd URL to be the visiting page.
Just write in the /04 subdirectory .htaccess file, and will move all your subdirectory to a new URL.
I hope that answers your question and feel free to reply back if you have further questions.
Cheers,
So they will be linking to their actual pages or posts not just being sent to the homepage?
And how do I get to this /04 subdirectory .htaccess file?
Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for the update.
Yes, that should do it. If you have added the redirect on the website’s .htaccess in its root directory, then it should redirect all the posts to the new URL. This will redirect the post to post, assuming that they have the same post name/slug.
The link you have shared is already redirecting to the new URL. You don’t need to set up a different .htaccess in the sub-folder since you’re already using the domain to domain redirection.
I hope that helps.
Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.
