Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the 404 errors on your website. Yes, you can definitely redirect those 404 pages to your blog URLs using the Rank Math redirection feature in WordPress.
To set this up, you would need to navigate to the Redirections section in Rank Math and create new redirection rules for the URLs that are returning 404 errors. Here’s a brief overview of how to do it:
-
Navigate to Redirections: Go to your WordPress Dashboard, then to Rank Math SEO > Redirections.

-
Add a New Redirection: Click on Add New to create a new redirection rule.

-
Set Up the Redirect: Enter the old URL (the one returning a 404) and the new URL (the blog URL you want to redirect to). Choose the type of redirection (301 Permanent is recommended).
-
Save Changes: Make sure to save your changes after setting up the redirection.
This setup should effectively redirect users from the old pages to your blog URLs without any issues. If you encounter any problems or need further assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern!

Thanks for the detailed steps!
Just to confirm, it’s not necessary for the pages we’re redirecting from to be hosted on WordPress, right? As some of these are old landing or asset pages, not blog posts. I just want to be sure Rank Math can still handle those redirects properly.
Hello,
Yes, you can use Rank Math to redirect some of the URLs you shared.
However, our plugin doesn’t support redirecting files with extensions like .pdf or .css.
In this case, you will have to use the .htaccess
file for such redirections. Here is a guide that can help:

Here’s how you can edit the .htaccess
file using Rank Math:

Please take a backup before editing your .htaccess file. Also, since it is a sensitive file, we recommend getting in touch with your web host for assistance before modifying it.
Looking forward to helping you.
