    Dear RankMath,

    In my Google Search Console, there are two sitemaps that show up. One with the www version of my domain, and one naked version of my domain.

    Double Sitemaps

    I want to completely eliminate the WWW version of my domain and redirect to the other version.

    How can I accomplish this? I saw that you can do this by editing the .htaccess file, but mine says that the “.htaccess file is not writable”.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    You can remove the sitemap by clicking it and clicking the three-dot button at the upper right corner. Here’s a link for more information:
    https://expanderdigital.com/blog/remove-sitemap-google-search-console/

    Your sitemaps are also redirecting to the final version, which is non-www.

    If you wanted to edit your .htaccess through Rank Math, please check your wp-config.php file for this line and set it to false:

    define (‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true);

    If it’s not there, please add this line in that file:

    define (‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, false);

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.
