redirect www to non-www results in Too Many Redirects error

Just installed and activated Rank Math on a website. I am attempting to forward the www to non-www. I am following the steps in this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-redirect-www-urls-to-non-www/

When I edit the .htaccess file with either snippet, I am unable to load the site and I get a Too Many Redirects error. How can I resolve this issue and forward www to non-www?

Solved the issue. Under Settings > General I still had the site address as “www.site.com”
Upon updating the site address to “site.com” and adding the snippet to the .htaccess file, I was able to successfully redirect www to non-www.
