If you wanted to redirect your author pages to a specific page, then you may need to enable this option in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Authors
Then, you can create a regex redirect for all of your author pages like this:
Source: author/(.*)
Destination: https://yourwebsite.com/about/
Please update the destination with your actual about page URL.

Please also check if there are any other slugs on your author URLs or if it is spelled authors in the source URL of the redirect.

I have checked the author slug, it is in fact author/Luci for my user author page – https://www.mumsmakelists.com/author/Luci/ – however, adding this into the redirect doesn’t change anything.

Checking the affected URL you shared, it seems that you are currently using a capital “L”, hence the redirection rule isn’t working.
I enabled the option “Ignore Case” to match it to URLs with an upper case. Kindly clear your website cache and check again from your end.

I’ve checked the redirect, and it seems that you have also included the word /luci in the source. The correct source should be the previous code I sent above.
However, I have corrected the redirection so all of your author profile pages would be redirected to your about page.
Please check as well if it’s already working as expected.

This still isn’t working, I’ve tried clearing the site cache, browser cache and checking in Safari and DuckDuckGo as well as my usual Chrome browser.
I added in ‘luci’ as you’d previously suggested checking if there were any slugs in the source URL. The source URL to my author page ends with author/luci. Could there be another reason that this redirect isn’t working?

I think we’ve been talking at cross purposes. I have recorded my screen and saved the URL of the video in the sensitive data area.
The issue is that the Author hyperlink on all posts under the H1 title that says By: Luci McQuitty Hindmarsh is redirecting to the homepage. I want this link to direct to the About page.

Thank you for that screencast.
The author link showing on your posts is added by your theme, and the link for that text is your homepage.
In this case, you may need to get in touch with your theme provider to change the link for that author text on your posts.

I will do that, I hadn’t realised it was connected to the theme as there is no option to set it as part of the theme. It’s a MediaVine framework theme, so I’ll see what they say.
