Recommendation for Dev Site “noindex”

    Hi,
    We have 4 hosted WP sites.
    The hosting platform has a dev site for each of the 4 sites.
    The dev site is obviously hosted on a separate ‘dev’ domain.

    Do you recommend that we set Rank Math to “noindex” the whole dev website?
    Or do you recommend we just keep the setting exactly like the live website settings?

    Thanks for contacting us regarding the noindex on dev website.

    I wouldn’t recommend making Rank Math ‘noindex’ whole website as there are other ways to make Google not index the website. You can use robots.txt to disallow the dev from indexing or even checking the checkbox ‘Discourage search engine’ in Dashboard > Setting > Reading

    Normally, these days servers which offers dev or staging platform, they come with password protected directories.
