RankMath with Headless CMS

    Rank Math free

We use WordPress as a Headless CMS, which means we created a website on cms.thefoxyhen.com and take a scrapes of the code of each and every page and duplicate them on http://www.thefoxyhen.com

We use RankMath to help us to improve our SEO and we love the product. Our only hiccup so far is that we are using the Article structured data schema on our blog posts but, when inspected, it is showing cms.thefoxyhen.com in the structured data. Is there any way we can tell RankMath to consider http://www.thefoxyhen.com to be the primary site even though it is installed on a WordPress installation for cms.thefoxyhen.com?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your homepage, and all the data are still showing the cms.thefoxyhen.com subdomain.

Could you please check if you have already set your WordPress and Site Address URLs on your Dashboard > Settings > General?

    Site Address URL

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hi Reinelle,

    Thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately, the way our WordPress is set up, we can’t add our www domain to the Site Address (URL) field in your screenshot. We have advanced functionality in our www site that can’t live within the WordPress ecosystem. Hence, we take a scrape of all pages built in WordPress (cms.domain.com) and copy the exact code over to http://www.domain.com and inject our advanced functionality into those copied pages.

I’m wondering if there is a way to edit the URL in the structured data produced by RankMath to point to the http://www.domain.com instead of the cms.domain.com ?

    Thanks,
    Ally

    Hello,

Our plugin takes the URL from calling the function home_url() which retrieves the current website URL.

Because of this, it will always return the link where you have installed Rank Math.

To change the Schema outputted you need to resort to the following filter to find all instances of this and replace them with the appropriate base URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#extend-json-ld-data

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
