I think I see the root cause. It is similar to Yoast plugin and that’s very sad …
To make the Elementor editor work with FireFox there is a workaround, as it is buggy at the moment. https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/24260#issuecomment-1845700292
This workaround seems to slow down RankMath, too.
Deleting the hook, the site will get faster, but not fast. But at least editable again.

Elementor has released a stable fix for the issue. If the issue persists with their latest version, you should get in touch with their support, as they might have already have a fix for the users who use Yoast or Rank Math.
