rankmath title not being displayed on the frontend

    Rank Math free

Hi, I am using currently breakdance builder version 1.2.1 and have noticed that the title tags for pages are not properly being displayed in the frontend when they are set in the backend. I don’t have any crazy other plugins besides that and gravity forms.

For example if you go to https://www.photosat.ca/
You can see the OG:title is “PhotoSat Survey Services – Topography and Alteration Mapping”
Which is what I want it to be but if you google it, that page title doesn’t show up because there isn’t a <title> tag for that page. Shouldn’t rankmath add it to the <title> tag of each page?

    Rank Math free

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math. We are sorry for any inconvenience this must have caused you.

We have checked the site’s page source, and its title and meta description tags are already shown correctly in the page’s source code.

You can also verify that using this tool:
    https://heymeta.com

This is not an issue with the Rank Math plugin as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and shows something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better. In this case, the best you can do is optimize your meta title and description to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

Here’s a link for more information:

    We hope that helps you.

    Thank you.

Ok, the rewriting makes sense but why isn’t rankmath adding <title> tags to the website? I am pretty sure it used to do this. Did rankmath stop doing this?

I can see the og:title and the twitter:title but I feel the <title> tag missing is pretty critical still.

Is there a way to add it back in? Is there a setting to do this? If not I am going to have to switch all of my websites away from rankmath as I feel that is a huge SEO issue.

Just to add, I just checked 3 other websites using the same plugins and the same version of rankmath and they have the <title> tags added correctly but not the photosat.ca website.

    Hello,

Sorry for the confusion above. We’ve checked your website and we can confirm the <title> tag is missing on your pages. In this case, please check Rank Math > Titles & Meta and make sure you’ve set a title in Single Post Title and Single Page Title for your post and page settings.
    https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/#single-page-title

If the issue still persists, then you can try to follow this guideline to check if any of your plugins/theme is conflicting with Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

You can also follow the steps in this video:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Hi, I went through using the troubleshooting of that health check and troubleshooting plugin. And using that plugin the title tag does show up correctly. I even enable all plugins while troubleshooting and it displays the title tag correctly. However when I stop the troubleshooting plugin the title tag disappears with the exact same plugins enabled. Not sure what the issue is, Maybe some host settings are messing with rankmath?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Could you please confirm if you have also changed to the default theme (e.g. Twenty Twenty-Three) while in troubleshooting mode?

If so and the issue still persists, then you may try creating a staging site with the same issue so you can test the issue freely without using the health check plugin.

Here is a guide that could be really useful for you on how to create a staging site: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/

You can also share the staging site logins in the sensitive data section so we can investigate it further
