Hey there!

In my website, the URL for the sitemap is https://example.com/sitemap_index.xml
I was curious to know if I can change this URL to https://example.com/sitemap.xml.
I want to do it because many website analyzers try to access sitemap.xml rather than sitemap-index.xml.

Please guide me with the same.

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I am sorry but we don’t have an option to change the sitemap file URL. The sitemap URL is automatically generated by Rank math and it would be recommended not to change it..

If you still want a different URL you can use a separate sitemap file/plugin and then disable the sitemap module in Rank Math via Rank Math > Dashboard
