  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your meta description not appearing in Google search results. This can happen for several reasons, and we appreciate you providing the images and details about your website.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

    1. Check Your Meta Description: Ensure that the meta description you have set is relevant, useful, and of high quality. Google may choose not to display it if it is just a collection of keywords or if it doesn’t match the user’s search intent.

    2. Re-indexing: Sometimes, Google may not have indexed the latest version of your page. You can check if Google has picked up on your changes by entering cache: followed by your page’s URL in the search bar (e.g., `cache:https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/). This will show you the last cached version of your page. If the cache date is from before you added the new meta description, you may need to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index your page.
Enter cache followed by the full URL into the search bar
      Check date in cache

    3. Content Relevance: If your meta description does not match what users are searching for, Google might opt to show other content from your page instead. Make sure your meta description aligns well with the content on the page and the keywords users are likely to search for.

    4. Avoid Duplicate Meta Descriptions: If the same meta description is used across multiple pages, Google may ignore it. Ensure that each product page has a unique and descriptive meta description.

    5. Google’s Discretion: Ultimately, it’s important to understand that Google has the discretion to choose what it displays in search results. Sometimes, it may select content from your page that it deems more relevant to the search query.

If you’ve checked all these aspects and are still having issues, we recommend replying to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will be able to assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope this information helps you resolve the issue!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Unfortunately, the screenshots you’ve shared are returning 404 errors.

However, please note that nowadays, Google does that very commonly. Even when everything is fine, Google may choose to display a different meta description or no description for your search query result. Google may skip the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.
