Hi!
I have had this same problem before (approximately 2 months ago), but it was only with one or two articles and it never appeared again (I don’t know why).
Now the problem’s back and this happened yesterday and also today (two different posts).
So for some reason, when you’re writing a post and gone through all the SEO settings, suddenly the RankMath SEO says “Not available”.
I have no idea why this is happening and why it occurred a couple of months ago and now again.
This is really frustrating.

Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Now I got an email, which says that our site had a critical error and it was because of RankMath.
This happened after we published new post. That post worked correctly for few minutes and all of a sudden it didn’t work anymore. I tried to change the post url, because that has helped earlier, but this time it didn’t help.
There’s something seriously wrong with RankMath and I have to inactivate the plugin until you have the time to check it out.
EDIT: When I inactivated the RankMath plugin, everything is working as it should. So if you activate it again, make sure that our newest posts are showing to our readers.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
I have checked the link and it seems to work while using Block editor, see the screenshot here:https://snipboard.io/b0U4tl.jpg. It would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Please let us know if you find the culprit.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Did you see that 2nd message from me, which is far more important, yet related to same problem?
You had activated the RankMath plugin and our newest published post wasn’t working anymore – instead it gave the 404 error, and I specifically mentioned, that if you’re doing any kind of changes, make sure that everything is working properly.
So now I went to the troubleshoot mode and when I activate my theme and then RankMath – before any other plugins – the problem’s occur.
While in editor: “SEO not available”
When I try to open our newest post on our actual site: 404 error Page not found”Now, when I inactivated RankMath, everything works again – just like I mentioned on my earlier message.
All of this happened after the RankMath update two days ago. So everything was working correctly before that 1.0.41.1 update.
So what do I need to do here? It was caused by your update, so are you able to help me or do I need to contact my theme forum?
I like RankMath, but I’m seriously considering going back to Yoast, which works always without problems like this.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
I have been able to replicate the issue with the 404 error. I have forwarded to the dev team and they will be coming up with a solution soon.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Do you have an estimate when it will be fixed?
Hello,
We have been able to reproduce the error and it’s happening only with the post that you mentioned in the Sensitive Data area.
Please allow us some time while we get to the bottom of it and release a fix.
We apologize for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to this.
In the meantime, please feel free to ignore the scores while we try and fix the issue and release an update.
We seek your patience and understanding in this matter.
If there’s anything else we can help you with, please let us know.
Thank you.
The problem is that we can’t keep the RankMath plugin active at all. If we do, our newest post gives 404 error to our readers and this happens with every new post we publish. And we publish posts every day!
That’s why this is so urgent, because until you fix the problem, we need to keep RankMath inactive.
So I need an estimate, because if a problem like this takes you a long time to solve, we need to consider changing to Yoast. And I’ve seen people already changing to Yoast so one would assume that you would fix this right away and not keep your users waiting and asking for patience.
Hello,
For the time being, can you please use the Gutenberg editor and then write the post and let us know if the issue still persits?
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
What you guys don’t seem to realize is the fact that we can’t activate RankMath before it’s fixed!
If we do so, our readers will get an 404 error when they try to open our newest post and we just can’t afford to lose readers, because of a SEO plugin.
At the same time, when we post our published articles to social media, the pictures aren’t loading etc., because we’re not using either RankMath or Yoast. That’s why I need an estimate how long this will take to be fixed: I need to decide whether I will wait for RankMath or change to Yoast!
And I don’t know why you are avoiding to answer this question about the estimate time for the fix: I need that answer!
Hello,
Can you please follow these steps and let us know if that helps?
1. Please remove all the posts from the trash folder
2. We have deactivated the Redirections for now and with Rank Math activated, all the posts are opening fine.
3. Please convert the following article using the new Block aka Gutenberg editor:
Maailman omituisimmat lait: 10 kummallista lakipykälää
4. Please review the redirections and enable them one by one according to the needs as we can see some blank redirections as well which are not needed.
4.1 We do not recommend turning this option on:
WordPress handles that automatically by creating a 303 redirect. Unless you are creating advanced redirects, it is best to let WordPress handle it.
Please let us know if that’s working fine.
For the ETA, we do not want to give any false deadlines which we might not be able to meet.
The reason is that currently, we are maintaining two different libraries for Gutenberg & the Classic Editor, and that is creating such weird issues with the Classic Editor.
Since WordPress will stop the support for the Classic Editor plugin next year, we are focusing more on the new Block Editor.
With that said, we are currently working on making use of just one library for Gutenberg and the Classic Editor. We have already completed the migration internally and are testing it.
As soon as we are sure that nothing’s messing up, we will release an update that should fix all such issues.
We are trying to complete that within the coming week but can not be 100% sure, as there might arise last minute incompatibility issues that we have to fix before releasing an update.
I hope you understand. Please let us know how can we assist you further.
Thank you.
So if we use Classic Editor for the next post we publish, do you think we will face the same problem: it gives our readers 404 error?
Should we use Block editor for as long as you release a new update for RankMath?
I went to redirections and only turned off the one you recommended to be turned off (auto post redirect).
Hello,
The 404 seems to have occurred due to an incorrect redirection and not because of the error you are facing in the Classic Editor, in that particular post.
You can continue to use the Classic Editor, it should not create an issue (99%), unless the article is like the one in the question.
You can always use the Block Editor in case of any issue(s), which we highly recommend to use since WordPress will drop the support for the Classic Editor in the coming year, so it’s better to get used to the new editor sooner.
Hope that helps and we seek your understanding & patience in this matter.
Thank you.
