Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with the Rank Math SEO scores fluctuating. This can happen for a few reasons:
-
Recalculation of Scores: Rank Math’s SEO scoring algorithms may not have recalculated the scores for your posts, especially if they were imported from another SEO plugin or if the focus keyword was not set correctly. To resolve this, you can use the Recalculate Scores tool in Rank Math. This will update the SEO scores for all your published posts where the focus keyword is set.
To use this tool:
- Go to the Rank Math dashboard.
- Click on Recalculate Scores.
- A popup will appear, and Rank Math will start recalculating the SEO scores for your posts.
- Keep the browser open until the process is complete.

-
Focus Keyword Not Set: If the focus keyword is not set for a page, it may show an N/A score or a lower score. Ensure that each page has a focus keyword assigned.
-
Caching Issues: Since you’ve already cleared your browser cache and Rank Math cache, ensure that there are no other caching plugins that might be affecting the display of scores.
If after trying these steps you still see discrepancies in the scores, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

Thanks But I have done all the help options numerous times and no change.
Hey is this a human? 🙂 Hello, I am SEO Optimizing ZooTownSurfers.com. For numerous pages, when I am on the back end of a page it shows a RankMath SEO ranking of above 80, but then it switches between 2 numbers–one much lower. On the back end of the site where I’m viewing all pages it shows 6+ pages with low scores below 80, and then I click on the page and see it is much higher. I’ve tried clearing cache on browser, on rank math, etc and logging back in out, etc. What is going on? How can I resovle this? Which score is real thanks?
I’ve tried everything suggested.
This is the case on nearly every page and we have over 100 pages, i’m confused 🙂
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Can you please share a screencast with us using a tool like https://loom.com so that we can check the issue further for you?
However, please note that when you use Elementor or Divi as your page builder, you should always rely on the score from inside Elementor’s or Divi’s visual builder because when you are in the default WordPress editor, there are some shortcodes that are not readable from the page builder and the discrepancy can happen.
The correct score is the one shown in the page builder and you will have to update the post manually in the editor to save the correct score.
Looking forward to helping you.
