    Hi there,

I just discovered another “related” issue to the previous ticket.

After running an Ahref report the 2 URLS that were redirected are causing 3XX redirect errors.
The target URL is listed in the xml sitemap.

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the redirect issue you are facing with Rank Math. To troubleshoot the redirection problem causing 3XX errors, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check for Redirections Created with Rank Math:

      • Verify if you’ve accidentally created "broad redirects" within Rank Math that might be causing the issue. Check all the redirections you’ve created and ensure there are no misconfigurations or multiple URLs being redirected to a single destination URL.
      • Open the recently created redirections inside Rank Math and review their settings to ensure they are correctly configured.
    2. Check .htaccess (or) nginx.config File:

      • Inspect your .htaccess file using Rank Math in your WordPress dashboard to see if any additional redirection rules have been set up. Delete any unnecessary rules that might be causing the problem.
    3. Theme or Plugin Conflict:

      • Perform a quick conflict check on your website to identify if any plugins or themes are causing unwanted 301 redirects. Disable Rank Math temporarily and check if the random redirections persist. If needed, disable other plugins one by one to pinpoint the cause of the issue.

If after following these steps the issue persists, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We are here to help you resolve this redirection issue.

    Best regards.

    Hello,

I read through the auto reply troubleshooting and still having this issue.
    Can you help?

    Hello,

Please note that the sitemap will not remove redirected URLs that are still available in the WordPress backend.

You can either completely delete/unpublish those pages, or set them to noindex and they will be removed from the sitemap.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you Reinelle 🙂

If I delete those pages will that cause any other issue?

    Hello,

No, those pages aren’t accessible to the public, so there shouldn’t be any issue deleting them.

However, if you might need those pages later on or in the future, we recommend unpublish or noindex them instead so you can restore the content easily.

In the eyes of search engines, those pages do not have any value as they are already redirected. Their link juice is already passed to the new URLs.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you Reinelle!
