Could you please check if you have the gutenberg plugin installed on your site? We have isolated this plugin to cause similar issues.
While in troubleshooting mode, you can enable each of your plugins one after the other until you identify the culprit.

I understand, I uninstalled Gutenberg and it looks like the problem is over. And the block editor remains working. I keep testing, anything I report here.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide?
If the plugin won’t install, please manually disable each plugin and then see if the issue is gone. If it is, please re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic plugin.

But now it is not detecting TOC. I am using Table of Content plus plugin

We only detect Table of Contents if you are using one of these plugins to add a table of contents section.

​Unfortunately, there is no other way to look for a Table of Contents section other than to look for pre-installed ToC plugins like the ones listed above. You also use the filter provided in the above link to manually add your plugin to the compatibility list (or ask your ToC plugin provided to add it to their plugin)

You can also use this code in your theme’s functions.php file to manually tell Rank Math that you are already using a Table of Contents and to pass that test.
