Rankmath not saving settings on page (Porto Theme with AJAX update)

    Currently using the eCommerce theme Porto… I’m not sure if it is causing the issue or what. Whatever I do to save the settings in the RankMath meta box on the homepage (or any page), settings do not save. It says, updated… but, when I refresh the page manually; all the changes I made disappear. Check changing these settings on the homepage at https://cyberpunkkitty.com

    I am guessing, this theme now has a new ability for AJAX backend update on the pages… see: https://www.portotheme.com/wordpress/porto/documentation/wpbakery-backend-ajax-save/

    I’m not sure if this is part of the issue?

    Any help is beyond appreciated… I just got this site up and submitted everywhere last night and unfortunately missed it wasn’t saving this data until now. Kind of in the hot seat trying to fix this before I have a haul of traffic coming up soon…

    I was able to get it work while using the Gutenberg editor for reference… It still will not save when using WpBakery Backend or classic.

    Hello,

    There is a conflict between Rank Math and one of your plugins or your theme. To confirm this, I installed the WP Health Check plugin and activated troubleshooting mode. While in troubleshooting mode, I enabled Rank Math and WPBakery only and post titles were saving without any issues.

    Hello,

    It seems that there was a recent change to how that theme works as it’s hooking into the save_post action and using AJAX request to save the data.

    This prevents our plugin from saving the data because we rely on that default action from WordPress.

    Although we understand the reasons the theme developers might have done that it will break compatibility with any plugin that needs those default actions from WordPress to run without AJAX requests as it was intended in the first place.

    Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do from our side to mitigate the situation.
