Hi team, I changed my sites domain from .net to .com last month and notified Google of the change. But I noticed my new posts on the new URL aren’t indexed as well as some already published posts. No errors were detected in the search console. However, when I checked my sitemap, I saw 2 different post sitemaps (sitemaps1 and sitemap2) generated by Rank Math, I’m not sure if it’s related to the problem. What to do, please?

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Google crawls small-sized sitemaps faster. With this in mind, Rank math uses the link per sitemap limit to break down sitemaps into smaller parts. For example, if you have 1200 posts on your site and have set the links per sitemap to 200, if you head to your /sitemap_index.xml you will find post-sitemaps named from /post-sitemap1 to /post-sitemap6. This is done automatically and it helps in having small-sized sitemaps making them easier to crawl.

This will not affect the indexing of your posts or page. Please share some affected URLs in the sensitive data section so we can check and assist you further.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Discovered, not indexed, means that the Googlebot has already discovered those URLs.

I checked the URL with the site operator in Google, one URL is already indexed in Google:
    google

Please give Google some time to crawl your website and sitemap and index other URLs.

Please note that it is completely up to Google if they want to index or not index your website. So, if you haven’t willingly or accidentally made your posts noindex and Google still isn’t indexing your page – it means that either Google doesn’t want to index or hasn’t crawled your page yet because it hasn’t allocated that much crawl budget to your website.

Please check this website for more details.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
