Rankmath causing memory issues when using Divi Builder

    Hello,

We have a client who uses Divi and RankMath on their site, and as of the latest update, the site no longer allows them to edit in Divi when RankMath is active. Server resources are not a factor – PHP memory = 2048MB, post size limit = 128MB. Here are the error message we’re receiving:

An error has occurred while saving your page. Various problems can cause a save to fail, such as a lack of server resources, firewall blockages, plugin conflicts or server misconfiguration. You can try saving again by clicking Try Again, or you can download a backup of your unsaved page by clicking Download Backup. Backups can be restored using the portability system while next editing your page.

Contacting your host and asking them to increase the following PHP variables may help: memory_limit, max_execution_time, upload_max_filesize, post_max_size, max_input_time, max_input_vars. In addition, auditing your firewall error log (such as ModSecurity) may reveal false positives that are preventing saves from completing.

I created a video showing the problem.
    https://www.toledocarenet.org/internal/toledocarenet-rankmath-divi-error.mp4

In the video, the first time I try to edit, I get the error message *immediately* after attempting to save the page. Then I turn off RankMath, and I’m able to save the page without issue. This same issue happens on every page we tried (I tested ~5 pages to make sure it wasn’t limited to content on one page).

Our server admin team has confirmed the issue is not with ModSecurity or any other server-level process.

Is this a known issue? If so, is it being addressed?

Any help would be most appreciated. I don’t want to tell the client to turn off RankMath when they need to edit their site, nor do I want to switch them to Yoast. But we can’t have fundamental functionality breaking either. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Paul H.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The server resources on your site are quite low:
    https://i.rankmath.com/i/dtQnJ3

Please check the PHP values of your site by going to WordPress dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info tab > Server. These values affect the performance of your site and they should be set at least to the following recommendations:

    PHP Memory Limit: 512M
    Max input time: 150
    PHP time limit: 120

If any of these values are lower than the recommended ones, please contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase them for you.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
