Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with Rank Math version 1.0.231. The error you mentioned, TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'name'), seems to be related to the Gutenberg integration in that specific version.
Since rolling back to version 1.0.230 resolved the problem for you, it indicates that there may be a bug in the latest update. We recommend keeping an eye on future updates, as our team is continuously working to improve the plugin and fix any issues that arise.
In the meantime, if you continue to experience problems or have further questions, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that this issue might have caused.
Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it could be caused by a conflict with one of your plugins/theme.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c
Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Let us know how this goes.
Thank you.
Using the Healthcheck plugin, with only RankMath enabled, and with the default theme, I still can’t edit any of my patterns. I get the same error.
I have recreated this in a dev environment so you can work freely. I’m not putting the credentials in sensitive data because the site will be overwritten without the rankmath user after the problem is resolved.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
The credentials you shared are not working. We’re getting this error:

We tried using both rankmath and rankmath (admin role) – just to be safe :), none worked.
Please check this and let us know.
That’s weird. I just tried the credentials on two different browsers and it worked. I used private mode to make sure cookies weren’t involved. I copied and pasted the password from this support ticket to make sure I conveyed it correctly. This credentials only work on the dev instance, dev.vbriefings.org/vba, not the production instance, vbriefings.org/vba.
The user is “rankmath”.
Please try again, making sure you are on the dev instance, and let me know.
Once you are in, you are free to try anything, because the dev instance will be replaced.
Hello,
Okay, I’m in. But I’ve not been able to replicate the error on your website – and I confirmed that Rank Math v1.0.231 is active. Can you please detail the steps for replication? As well as screenshots. This would help us understand how to investigate this issue.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation
Hello,
I’m afraid, I’m still not able to reproduce the error. Here’s a video:

Just to be sure, I edited the same pattern you did on your video – and it’s working fine.
Have you tried doing this from another browser, for testing purposes?
Regards,
I created another admin user and I don’t get the error. I don’t know what’s up with the “gregfuller” user, but I will create another admin user in production and delete gregfuller. Thanks for helping me discover that the problem is just with one user. Weird.
Hello,
Thank you for the update. We’re glad to hear that the issue is isolated to a specific user. It sounds like the user profile might have some specific settings or permissions causing the error.
Feel free to delete or reset the user, and let us know if anything else comes up. We’re always here to help!
