    Hello Rank Math Support,

I recently updated the textual content of my page targeting the keyword “création site internet Dijon” and requested a reindexing from Google:
    https://dev-web-agency.com/creation-site-internet-dijon/

Since then, I’ve noticed a drop in rankings for this keyword. Is this a normal fluctuation due to the update and reindexing? If so, how long does it typically take for rankings to stabilize?

    Thank you for your help!

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the drop in rankings after updating your content. It’s not uncommon to see fluctuations in rankings following content updates and reindexing. Here are a few points to consider:

    1. Temporary Fluctuations: After making significant changes to your content, it’s typical for rankings to fluctuate as Google reassesses the relevance and quality of your updated page. This can happen as Google crawls and indexes the new content.

    2. Stabilization Period: The time it takes for rankings to stabilize can vary. Generally, it may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for Google to fully process the changes and for your rankings to settle. During this period, keep an eye on your keyword performance.

    3. Monitoring Tools: Utilize tools like Google Search Console to monitor your impressions and clicks for the targeted keyword. This can help you understand how your page is performing over time.

    4. Algorithm Updates: Keep in mind that Google frequently updates its algorithms, which can also impact rankings. If there was a recent algorithm update around the time of your content change, it could contribute to the fluctuations you’re experiencing.

If you continue to see a significant drop in rankings beyond a few weeks, it may be worth reviewing the content for quality and relevance or checking for any potential issues that could affect indexing.

Thank you for raising this concern, and let us know if you need further assistance!

    Hello,

Google releases a new algorithmic update several times a month, and there is a good chance that your website was affected by it.

We have a full guide on that:
