Rank Math Not Indexing New Pages on My Website – “Noindex” Tag Issue?

    Hi Rank Math Community,

I’ve been using Rank Math on my WordPress site for SEO, and recently noticed that new pages I create aren’t being indexed by search engines. When I checked the page source, I found that a “noindex” tag is being automatically added, even though I haven’t selected this option in Rank Math settings.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Double-checked the Rank Math settings for each page to confirm “Index” is selected.
Cleared my website cache and purged any old settings.
Checked for conflicts with other plugins, but none seem related to indexing.
Could there be a setting in Rank Math that I’m overlooking, or has anyone else experienced this issue where pages are tagged with “noindex” by default? Any help on troubleshooting this would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with new pages not being indexed due to the "noindex" tag. Thank you for providing detailed information about what you’ve already tried.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue further:

    1. Check Rank Math Metabox: Open the specific post/page in the WordPress Editor and look for the Rank Math Metabox. Ensure that in the Advanced Tab, the Robots Meta is set to Index. If it’s set to No Index, change it to Index and update the page.
      Rank Math Advanced Tab

    2. Titles & Meta Settings: Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta in your WordPress dashboard. Check each section to ensure that no default settings are applying a "noindex" tag to your new pages. If you find any settings that are set to "noindex," change them to "index" as needed.
Set Noindex in Titles and Meta Settings

    3. Search Engine Visibility: Go to Settings → Reading in your WordPress dashboard and check the Search Engine Visibility section. Make sure the checkbox labeled Discourage search engines from indexing this site is unchecked.
      Leave Search engine visibility unchecked

    4. Caching Issues: Since you’ve cleared your cache, ensure that there are no server-side caching mechanisms that might be serving old versions of your pages with the noindex tag.

    5. Robots.txt File: Check your robots.txt file to ensure that it is not blocking search engines from crawling your new pages.

If after checking all these settings the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. We appreciate your patience and hope this helps resolve your issue!
