    Hi Team,

I’m encountering an issue where Rank Math isn’t properly detecting internal links on some of my content pages, even though they exist. For example, I have a live page with multiple internal links pointing to other articles on the same domain, but Rank Math still shows “0 internal links” in the page analysis.

Here’s a sample page where this issue occurs. The internal links are clearly there in the content, yet Rank Math seems to miss them in its analysis.

    What I’ve tried so far:

    Reindexed the sitemap

Cleared cache (both site and plugin-level)

Ensured that links are standard anchor tags with proper href values

Re-saved the post and ran a new SEO analysis

Updated to the latest version of Rank Math

Still, the problem persists for a few posts. Could this be due to a theme conflict, caching issue, or something else in the page structure that Rank Math doesn’t parse correctly?

Would appreciate any suggestions or if anyone has faced a similar issue.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with Rank Math not detecting internal links properly on certain pages. Thank you for providing detailed information about the steps you’ve already taken to troubleshoot this problem.

Here are a few suggestions that might help resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Theme Conflicts: Sometimes, themes can interfere with how plugins function. You can temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) to see if the issue persists. If Rank Math detects the internal links correctly with the default theme, then the problem may lie within your current theme.

    2. Plugin Conflicts: Besides caching plugins, other plugins might also conflict with Rank Math. You can use the Health Check plugin to troubleshoot and identify any potential conflicts without affecting your live site.

    3. Content Structure: Ensure that the internal links are formatted correctly. They should be standard anchor tags (Link Text). If there are any JavaScript-based links or unusual HTML structures, Rank Math might not recognize them.

    4. Reindexing and Cache: Since you’ve already cleared the cache and reindexed the sitemap, ensure that there are no server-side caching mechanisms (like Varnish or Nginx caching) that might be serving an outdated version of your pages.

    5. Debugging Mode: You can enable debugging in Rank Math to see if any errors are being logged that could provide insight into why internal links are not being detected. This can be done in the Rank Math settings under the General Settings tab.

If none of these solutions work, we recommend replying to your ticket so a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can take a closer look at your specific case and provide more tailored assistance. Please include your site URL in your reply for better context.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope to resolve this issue for you soon!

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Can you please confirm if you are using any custom page builder to construct your content? We asked this because Rank Math can’t usually read non-supported custom page builders or any form of templated content (where your links are added) inserted in the post/page in question.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,
