Rank Math isn’t indexing my updated sitemap – GSC shows “Excluded”

    Rank Math free

I recently updated my sitemap through Rank Math on my WordPress site (https://magistvdl.com), but Google Search Console keeps showing many URLs as “Excluded” — specifically with status like Crawled – currently not indexed and Discovered – currently not indexed.

    I’ve already:
    ✅ Resubmitted the sitemap
    ✅ Checked robots.txt (nothing blocking)
✅ Used the Instant Indexing plugin (still not helping)
✅ Ensured each page has content + meta data + schema

Anyone else facing this issue? Is it a Rank Math setting or something else on-site I should fix?

    Thanks in advance 🙏

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap and the indexing status in Google Search Console. It sounds like you’ve already taken several important steps to address the problem. Here are a few additional suggestions that might help:

    1. Crawled – Currently Not Indexed

This status indicates that Google has crawled your pages but hasn’t indexed them yet. Here are some things to check:

    • Content Quality: Ensure that your content is unique, valuable, and comprehensive. Thin or duplicate content can lead to this status.
    • Internal Linking: Use strong internal links from high-traffic pages to the affected pages to help Google discover them better.
    • User Experience: Make sure the pages provide a good user experience, as this can impact indexing.

For more details on resolving this error, you can refer to our guide here.

    2. Discovered – Currently Not Indexed

This status means that Google has found your pages but hasn’t crawled or indexed them yet. To address this:

    • Technical Issues: Check for any technical problems that might prevent crawling, such as slow load times or broken links.
    • Content Value: Ensure that the pages provide significant value and are not considered thin or duplicate content.

You can find more information on fixing this error in our guide here.

    3. Using Instant Indexing

Since you mentioned using the Instant Indexing feature, ensure that it is properly set up. You can enable it by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO and checking the settings. After enabling it, make sure to submit the specific URLs you want indexed through the Instant Indexing option.

    4. Patience with New Sites

If your website is relatively new, it may take some time for Google to index all pages. Sometimes, being patient is necessary as Google processes new content.

If you continue to experience issues after checking these points, please reply to this ticket with any specific errors or additional details, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope this helps!
