Rank Math Indexnow killed my sites. Help

    Rank Math free

After many brainstorming and research I realized that most of my websites that was hit by the March update all uses Rank Math API Instant Indexing. I have turned off the API Instant Indexing from rank math but No recovery for any of the sites yet.

From my research, using a 3rd party indexing api tool will destroy your website on a long run.

What this does is, at first, your contents will get indexed fast, but over time like months, Google will remove them from search. Marking then as crawled but not indexed.

Have you encountered this before and can my sites recover from this hit?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sites. It sounds frustrating to deal with a drop in performance, especially after implementing changes like the Rank Math API Instant Indexing.

While we understand your concerns regarding the use of third-party indexing tools, it’s important to note that recovery from a Google algorithm update can take time. Here are a few steps you can consider:

    1. Monitor Algorithm Updates: Keep an eye on any recent Google algorithm updates that may have affected your sites. Understanding the nature of these updates can help you adjust your SEO strategies accordingly. You can check our guide on Google Algorithm Updates for more information.

    2. Check Indexation Status: Use the Google Search Console or the Index Status report in Rank Math to monitor your site’s indexation status. This will help you identify any issues that may be preventing your pages from being indexed properly. You can find more details on how to do this in our article about monitoring indexation status.

    3. Evaluate Your SEO Practices: Review your overall SEO practices and ensure that they align with Google’s guidelines. Sometimes, even minor adjustments can lead to improvements in search performance.

    4. Be Patient: Recovery from algorithm updates can take time, and it may require ongoing adjustments to your SEO strategy.

If you have further questions or need specific guidance, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you get your sites back on track soon!

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns.

We understand your situation, but please note that the IndexNow feature should not negatively impact your site’s SEO or cause pages to be deindexed by Google. It is designed to help search engines discover and index your content faster.

However, Google’s indexing and ranking algorithms are complex, and several factors can influence a site’s performance. We recommend conducting a comprehensive SEO audit of your sites to identify any other issues that may be affecting your rankings.

You can also request the indexing of your pages by passing it through the URL Inspection Tool and request it there: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/ask-google-to-recrawl. The tool will also let you know if there are any issues on the URL that prevent them from getting indexed.

You can read more about that here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9012289?hl=en

Meanwhile, we have provided some guides you can follow to ensure your website keeps showing up on Google search results: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-index/
