Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with Rank Math causing a critical error on your site. Since you mentioned that the problem persists even with all other plugins deactivated and that you are using PHP 8.3, it seems like there might be a conflict or a specific issue with the Rank Math plugin itself.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
-
Check for Fatal Errors: Enable debugging in WordPress to see if any specific error messages are being logged. You can do this by adding the following lines to your wp-config.php
file:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
After enabling this, check the wp-content/debug.log
file for any errors related to Rank Math.
-
Reinstall Rank Math: Sometimes, a fresh installation can resolve issues. Deactivate and delete the Rank Math plugin, then reinstall it from the WordPress repository.
-
Check Server Error Logs: If you have access to your server’s error logs, check them for any entries that might indicate what is causing the crash.
-
Contact Hosting Provider: Since you are using PHP 8.3, ensure that your hosting environment is fully compatible with this version and that there are no server-level issues affecting your site.
-
Try a Previous Version: If the issue started after an update, consider rolling back to a previous version of Rank Math to see if that resolves the problem.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you get your site back up and running smoothly!
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and we are sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Can you please share the error log with us?
Having the error log file will give a clear idea of why this might be happening.
You can follow this guide to enable debugging in WordPress https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ or you can get in touch with your web host, and they will help you locate the log file.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
I found the culprit. I had forgotten to deactivate WPCode Lite. It seems that is the plugin that causes error on my site. I will need to do some more testing, but for now this seems to be the case.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Nina
