    Hello,

    My website host, Site Ground, has informed me that my website’s database has gotten huge all of a sudden. My tech support guy looked into it and wrote:

    “Rank Math entries have blown up. Over 2 million database records. I can remove them, but do you need them? Apparently these entries point to an image of SEO snapshot images. From what I’ve read, if these pointer records are missing, Rank Math will rebuild what it needs when requested, with a tiny hit to page load times. But, I don’t see any SEO image files stored in your site.”

    From Site Ground:

    We have detected that the MySQL database listed below which is part of your sellingyourhomeinsv.com account exceeds the maximum allowed size of 1000MB per database:
    Current Usage: 1158MB

    The website is SanJoseRealEstateLosGatosHomes.com

    Can you please advise? I don’t want to pay for a larger hosting plan because of all of the Rank Math database records.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    Please ask your web host about the affected database tables so we can check.

    They can provide or point out the table names from Rank Math that is causing this issue.

    This is what I got from my tech guy –

    Here is the query I used to remove the orphaned records:

    DELETE a FROM wp_8pnw93gvrs_postmeta a left join wp_8pnw93gvrs_posts b on a.post_id = b.ID where b.ID is null;

    A developer will get what they need from this.

    I checked just now and there are nearly 10,000 new orphaned records created since yesterday.

    Something strange has happened to Rank Math. These records are being produced at about 5 per second currently.

    ……..

    I hope that this helps. I really love Rank Math and want to continue using it, but it seems to be overloading my hosting plan.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay in response.

    Yes, it’s safe to delete those orphaned rank_math_og_content_image entries. These are cached image references, and Rank Math will regenerate them if needed.

    That said, we noticed your site has a high number of posts, which naturally leads to more caching entries. Still, generating 5+ entries per second is unusual. Could you please confirm if you’re using any third-party tools or scripts that trigger bulk updates or regenerate metadata?

    Thanks for your reply. No, we aren’t doing anything like that. Rank Math is the only SEO plugin that we are using.

    The WordPress theme is built with DIVI, but it doesn’t do anything like that. Here’s a list of plugins in use:
