question to ask

    Hello
I would like to ask a question as follows:
Because in the product classification page, the product classification cannot be described in rich text, and wordpress only provides a simple description function of adding text to the product classification. So I set up a page for a category alone. Then add the introduction and description of the category on this page (I think this is more conducive to SEO, because I see a lot of competitors do this). But now there is a problem that the newly set category A page and the product category A automatically generated by the theme are different URLs, but the products displayed on their pages are the same, but the content of page A is richer than that of category A. , will this cause any problems? For example, the two share traffic or the Google robot thinks this is the same page, etc. Maybe what I described is not very professional, I hope you can understand
    What should I do best?
I hope you can give me some advice from an SEO professional point of view
    Looking forward to your reply
Here are the URLs of the two different pages I mentioned in the above article
The page A I built myself: https://www.bongaily.com/bongs/ (I haven’t finished the content in it, it will be better anyway)
The product category A automatically generated by the theme: https://www.bongaily.com/product-category/bongs/

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

In this case, you should redirect the category URLs to the page URLs and make sure to set the product categories as Noindex to avoid the duplicate content issue. You can set the product categories as Noindex from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Product Categories > Enable the Robots Meta option and set it as Noindex.

To redirect the URLs, please create the rule given below in WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Redirections:

    Source: product-category/(.*)
    Match: Regex
    Destination: https://www.bongaily.com/$1

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    hello
Nice to hear from you, thank you for your help
Also, I would like to ask, will redirects have a bad effect on the structure of the site or seo?
    Looking forward to your reply

    Hello,

The link juice is passed from the source to the destination URL with time once the search engine bots realize that it is a redirection. So for this, you do not have to worry about it as it will not have bad effects.

Here’s a link for more information:

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.
