Question about SILO pages [Very Urgent]

    Hey guys,

I am Jyoti, founder of WPMyWeb.com. I was your video about SILO pages and have a few questions in mind.

Under the “Hosting” category, I published all web hosting related posts including the pillar page which is “Best Web Hosting”. https://www.wpmyweb.com/hosting/best-web-hosting.html

I also have other hosting related articles like versus, alternatives, reviews, etc.

On your video (at 17 minutes) you said to create a new page and make it a SILO a.k.a pillar page and then redirect the category to the page.

So, my question, how do I restructure the whole “Hosting” section?

    1. I will do that redirection Category >> Page. But how should publish my new blog posts? Should I keep them under “Hosting” category?

    2. For example, if you check the post, it falls under “HOSTING” category. Is everything fine?

    3. OR, I just create a new Pillar page, and then add posts into it? Do mixing “pages” and “posts” work well for SEO? I mean the pillar page is a normal page and the child posts are regular posts that falls under category?

    Please help me with these.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thanks,
    Jyoti

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for advice on how to set up a silo structure and pillar posts for your content.

Silo structure only applies to posts, it does not apply to pages as they do not have categories.

To create a silo structure for the hosting category, you’ll need to create a pillar post which contains content about all the subtopics related to hosting. You can then link a post of each subtopic to the pillar post. You can also refer to this article on how to use the silo structure: https://rankmath.com/kb/pillar-content-internal-linking/

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

    Hey Nigel,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I understood now. But, do I need to redirect my category? For example: https://www.wpmyweb.com/hosting

Or leave it as it is?

    Hello,

It all depends upon the visual aspect of the category page. If you are currently happy with what the theme provides, you can leave that as it is. But, you want it to look more polished, the creating the page is the good option.

At the end, it’s all about user experience.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you
