Question about llms.txt

    Dear Sir/Madam,

We have seen that Yoast SEO plugin added an option for a LLMS.txt file to be added for the website, just like the sitemap. This would be for large language models to index the website.

Is Rankmath also implementing this in the plugin? Or don’t you develop in this way?

Would love to add it to our websites.

    Thank you for your respons.

    Best wishes,
    Marco

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing. Currently, there is no mention of a LLMS.txt file feature in the Rank Math plugin based on the available context. Rank Math focuses on providing robust SEO features, including sitemaps and other optimization tools, but it does not specifically address LLMS.txt implementation at this time.

If you have further questions or need assistance with other features of Rank Math, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!

Will there be in the future?

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Rank Math doesn’t currently include any built-in SEO settings or modules for the emerging llms.txt standard, as this is still a community proposal rather than a broadly adopted search engine feature.

If you’d like to experiment with llms.txt, you can manually create a plain-text llms.txt file in your site’s root—just as you would with robots.txt, and use the CPanel File Editor or FTP to manage it.

Note that Google’s own John Mueller has compared llms.txt to the old keywords meta tag, suggesting it may not yet carry much weight in SERPs. We’ll keep an eye on how this evolves and update our roadmap if wider search-engine support emerges.

Don’t hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

We have added support for the LLMs.txt file in the latest stable release.

Please ensure you are using the latest version of the Rank Math PRO plugin is version 3.0.93, and the Free plugin is version 1.0.250.

Here is a guide on how to use llms.txt in Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/llms-txt/

If you don’t see the new update, please head over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Status & Tools > Database Tools and clear the transients.

Then, proceed to WordPress Dashboard > Plugins and see if you are able to see a new version of the plugin, which you can update to, which should correct the issue after performing the update.

If you still don’t see an update, you can try the manual installation by downloading the latest Rank Math PRO version from your account and installing it on your website.

You can follow this guide to manually update the plugins: https://rankmath.com/kb/update-rank-math-manually/

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Big thanks!
