product tags not indexed but gsc index them

    Hi there,
    I see Google has indexed some product tags (actually quite many as I have like 10 tags set for each product and my website has 138 products in total) which I wanted not indexed, how can I make sure google does not index my product tags? because I read is not a good practice and can confuse google. If I go to rank math/product tags the “Tag Archives Robots Meta” IS NOT ACTIVATED, but if I go to tag, “tag archives robots meta” is activated… Are these 2 configurations set correctly? or should I do something else? looking at gsc under Coverage / Indexed, not submitted in sitemap I have many product tag urls, How can I resolve this problem? i just want that google index only my product and not product tags? having indexed product tags too will hurt my website for SEO?

    Hello,

    Yes, you should enable the Remove Snippet Data option for tags.
