Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math.
The rating/stars added through Rank math are author ratings and cannot be modified from the user’s end, so this can be dependent on the plugin you are using to acquire your reviews. If it’s a third-party plugin, you may need to get in touch with plugin support.
You can check here for more details on the review schema: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/review-snippet#aggregated-rating-type-definition
Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
Thanks for your reply. FYI these are WooCommerce reviews. Another one of my client sites is using Yoast, and their WooCommerce reviews show up as “reviews” not “votes.” So I’m inclined to believe the relevant modifications to the schema come from your plugin and not WooCommerce.
Hello,
Thanks for getting back to us.
You can try to change the schema to only have the reviewCount without the ratingCount since only one of these is required for the review snippet and it might have something to do with the count being read as votes.
Let us know if that works. Looking forward to helping you.
Yeah, that was my first thought. Do you see any issues with this?
add_filter( 'rank_math/snippet/rich_snippet_product_entity', function( $entity ) {
if(isset($entity['aggregateRating']['ratingCount'])) unset($entity['aggregateRating']['ratingCount']);
return $entity;
});
Hi there,
No, no issues. But if it does not work try and remove the entire aggregateRating section just to see if it gets things corrected.
Let us know how it goes and we can take it from there.
Thanks for your help! That snippet appears to have done the trick.
