Product schema ratings display

    Hello,

After the recent cut of “review” schema I have a few pages that I’ve changed to “product” schema as they are indeed product reviews. However, when I paste the shortcode onto the page all sorts of things show up that I do not want to show. I only want the rating to show, not the title and availability, etc.

How do I change this? I currently have star ratings showing through a random block that I added, but I have not pasted the shortcode of the schema into the post like I am supposed to.

    Thanks,
    Kelly

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Unfortunately, the shortcode from the Schema will display all of the information added in the schema generator. You can use and customize the output of the [rank_math_rich_snippet] shortcode by using this filter:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#change-shortcode-content

This way you can choose to display only the rating while there is Schema data, and nothing when there is no Schema to display.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Is it in line with Google’s guidelines if I show the rating in another way, without pasting the shortcode? I attached a picture as an example of what it is now. For similar to what the shortcode would show.

    Hello,

Google recommends that you must show all of the data visible in schema code on the frontend, which you can achieve automatically by pasting the shortcode on your content.

However, you can add them (schema data) manually to your posts/pages using your theme/page builder options to comply instead of adding the information using the shortcode. You can simply structure it as a normal article (using text widgets, headings, etc) like the one you showed in your screenshot.

The point is that all the content available for Google to see (schema data) should be visible to visitors as well.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.
