Product pages not indexed?

Since some days ago, I receive this error on search console.
Either “offers”, “review”, or “aggregateRating” should be specified
Also, when search for a product, product page doen’t appear but instead I find the category page where the product belongs to. And I see the product name in the description.

I think it happened after I have activated page title for categories. (I thought h1 tag should be on the category page as well.)

Could this be the case? The categories pages are prioritized over product pages?
For now I have deactivated page title for categories again.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for the unexpected delays and any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It could be that your category pages are much more optimized than your actual product pages for your desired keyword. This may require you to devise an SEO strategy.

    As for the error:

Either “offers”, “review”, or “aggregateRating” should be specified

Please refer to this guide to fix this warning: https://rankmath.com/kb/aggregate-rating-error/

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

OK, well, I am not using rating on my site. So I cannot set that up anyway.

Another issue I have now is that my site rankings keep dropping and I am thinking to go back to Yoast.
But I read that I should contact your support to ask for assistance. So do you think you can help me?

    Hello,

If you are not using actual reviews on your website, then you can safely ignore the warnings as Google will always look for them even if we manage to remove these properties from your product schema.

Changing the SEO tool of your site may affect your SEO but in a good way. As long as you set it up properly, the rankings will eventually go back to normal after a couple of weeks or even months.

Additionally, there are a few things you have to keep in mind when using any SEO plugin, not just Rank Math.

    1. An SEO plugin alone cannot bring down or bring up the traffic in a day (or even a few days) unless incorrect Meta Tags are used by setting up the plugin improperly. That’s why we have a detailed tutorial on that:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

    2. All the SEO plugins add Meta tags for the search engines which can be checked by viewing the source of a page. For instance, here:
    view-source:https://rankmath.com/

Other popular plugins generate similar tags:
    https://i.rankmath.com/n94KyH

And with the Rank Math plugin, additional tags are added to a page so search engines can understand the content on a website better.

    3. Google brings a new algorithmic update several times a month and the chances are great that your website got hit by that.

We have a full guide on that: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/

And if you are using Rank Math PRO, you can even see if the drop in traffic co-relates to an algorithm update. Here’s how:

    FINAL STATEMENT
