Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with updating the meta value of _elementor_edit_mode
. It seems like you’ve already done a thorough job of isolating the problem by deactivating plugins and checking for errors in the console.
Since the issue occurs only on specific pages, it could be related to a conflict between Rank Math and Elementor or possibly a specific setting or content on those pages. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot further:
-
Check for JavaScript Errors: Even though you mentioned not seeing anything in the console, please ensure that there are no JavaScript errors on the specific pages where the issue occurs. Sometimes, errors can be hidden or not immediately obvious.
-
Firewall Settings: If you have a firewall or security plugin, check if it is blocking any requests from Rank Math. Whitelisting Rank Math files might help.
-
Theme Conflicts: Switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) temporarily to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if your current theme is causing the conflict.
-
Database Optimization: Since you’ve optimized your database, ensure that there are no corrupted entries related to Elementor or Rank Math. You might want to use a database repair tool or plugin to check for issues.
-
Reinstall Rank Math: Sometimes, reinstalling the plugin can resolve unexpected issues. Make sure to back up your settings before doing this.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, we recommend replying to this ticket with any additional details or error messages you may find, and a human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.
Thank you for your patience, and we hope to resolve this for you soon!

Hello,
Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.
Can you please try to reinstall the WP Core, as that seems to have fixed the issue for other users? If you want us to do that for you, please also include FTP access to your site in the sensitive data section.
Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
No, reinstalled the Core and still have the same error. Here is an example of the page I’m having issues with, https://renewalcenters.net/anxiety-panic-therapy/
I installed Rankmath for the first time today (replacing Yoast SEO) and have had this error thrown a few times already. Any fixes?
Hello,
Please also ensure you are using the latest stable version of WordPress and Elementor on your site.
Here are some threads where Elementor users experienced a similar issue:
– https://wordpress.org/support/topic/updating-failed-could-not-update-the-meta-value-of-_elementor_edit_mode/
Please follow the steps in this guide from Elementor: https://elementor.com/help/error-when-updating-elementor-pro/
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
I have the same problem with the latest version of Rankmath, but not the previous one. Support told me it comr from Polylang, Polylang told me it comes from Fusion (same as elementor). I am starting to think that the problem may come from Rankmath itself. It used to work fine.
RankMath, if you noticed from my original post, I am using the latest versions and even reinstalled the Core. Please stop with the canned answers and fix the problem.
Thanks
The thing is this problem only started for me when I installed Rank Math. Elementor works fine with AIO and Yoast.
Where do we stand with this issue? I applied the latest plugin update and still experiencing the problem.
Hello,
We would like to debug this issue further. Can you add your website’s FTP login in the Sensitive Data section of this ticket?
